Prized Possessions, 2016.
'Prized Possessions' is a series that explores the emotive connections we form with inanimate objects. For every shoot, I asked the model to bring with them their most precious belonging. By linking portraiture with still life, it allows us to evaluate the reasons why we form such strong bonds with these materials, and it poses questions about our consumerist society. Do we surround ourselves with objects to fill a void, or to add to our status? Or do we cling on to these objects to remind ourselves of what was, and what may never be again?
